Purpose (The reason why the job exists)
The essential purpose of this job is to Ensure the Ladies wear (Ethnic) section is achieving its target of sales, labor and productivity while maintaining the customer service standards up to the company norms.

Functions
In the development of the departmental financial plans and to develop contingency plans that will ensure that the net margin plan can be achieved
And Marketing and Design to develop Visual Merchandising promotions in line with theme and product launches


Vendor
Vendor identification and development
Monitor on an ongoing basis delivery prices and quality by the vendor.
Conduct the annual review of supplier performance

Budgets and margin
Ensure that margin on sale plan is achieved within the agreed price strategy.
Obtaining Range merchandise after effective negotiation
Manage budgeted department expenditure within agreed levels

Product
Through a detailed and informed awareness of market, competition, consumer and product trends work to develop commercial looks and themes appropriate to the department.
Product presentation and packaging & Product development and display norms along with store planning.
Regularly update the front-end on key product benefits.
Ensure promotional activity throughout the year.

Consumer
Create structured ranges for each grade and type of stores that will give the best possible choice to the consumer while delivering the required returns per square foot.
Development of subordinate
Ensure that the skills of all direct reports are fully developed through a balance of training and coaching, and to manage individual performance so that full potential can be realized.

General
Integration with internal customers (Retail, Store planning, Visual Merchandisers and Merchandisers) and external customers (consumer).
Initiate and develop improvements in buying processes and best practices.
Conduct regular training programmes and provide updated product information packs for front-end.

Competencies / Skills Required
Soft Skills required. Product knowledge, Effective presentation skills, Effective negotiation skills, sound understanding of costing.
System skills required: Excel, ERP/SAP/MMS

Job Description

  • Responsible for day to day buying of Personal care products for the stores. Negotiate with new suppliers on product pricing, payment terms, cost of freight, provision of training, and the extent of their involvement in advertising and promotions, to decide on placing a purchase order with the supplier for the concerned product.
  • Will be responsible for benchmarking across all stores and prepare periodical reports.
  • Maintain profitable relationships with existing suppliers & adherence to the contract terms
  • Monitor the stock levels in the stores; coordinate with the store personnel to maintain optimal stock levels in line with the consumer demand. Replenishments of Stores.
  • Support the promotional activities in the store and ensure the merchandise is available in time and in right quantities

Reporting Structure:- Weekly / periodical reports at various hierarchies covering Sales, Margin, ASP, Volume, Inventory, inward parameters, tracking of customer entry, conversion %, avg cash memo, avg customer spending etc.

Business Analysis: - Promotions efficacy monitoring, Category penetration, Price & volume Elasticity analysis, trend analysis, facilitating business teams with ongoing analysis.

Inventory Management & OTB tracking:- Maintenance of WSSI Sheets and dynamic OTB reporting, Assurance of merchandise availability, weeks cover, days of supply and Stock Turns Planning etc.

Budgeting & Planning: - Annual, seasonal, periodical & weekly level by applying Top- bottom approach. Preparation of Merchandise plan, Division budgets, Financial buying plan etc.

Customer Behavioral Analysis:- Periodical insights on Discovery club program, Customers buy basket analysis, highlight change in buying habits, frequency tracking, adjacency analysis etc.

Suppliers Rebates & Claims: - Monitoring entitled suppliers’ claims on regular basis, reimbursement on account of promotional reimbursement, Octroi, SOH etc

System’s Administration: - Development / upgradation of queries and reports to meet changing business requirement, B2B and SAS ( Drishti) facilities development and administration.

Merchandise Taxability Management:- Setup applicable tax structure – VAT / CST, Service tax, Octroi on merchandise at procurement, transfer and Sales stage.
